Mandom Alcohol Gel claims to eliminate 99.99% of bacteria. Is it effective against COVID-19?

Mandom Alcohol Gel is a product containing alcohol (ethanol), and by applying this product to a cloth or paper towel and wiping down a surface, you can easily eliminate bacteria from objects in your environment like tables and door knobs. (When using this product on eating or cooking utensils, please rinse them with water before use.) This product has been confirmed to eliminate 99.99% of specific bacteria* under fixed use conditions, but its effects on COVID-19 have not been verified.
