Q&A on Effects

If my hair is too light after dyeing, can I dye it back to a darker color?

Yes. If your hair is lighter than you wanted after using dyes for gray or black hair, use a hair dyeing product with a darker finish next time.

Alternatively, if your hair is too light after bleaching or using a coloring product for black hair, you can darken it again by using color restorer.
However, once you have darkened your hair with color restorer, it will be difficult to lighten your hair again. Even bleaching won’t really work for this. So if you dye your hair dark, keep checking the color of your hair as the dye sets to ensure your hair doesn’t go darker than you want.

Remember to leave an interval of at least a week each time you use hair dye.
