What is a degassing cap?
Even if you think you’ve used up your spray cans and other aerosol products, there may still be some residual gas left inside; the degassing cap is a way of getting rid of that residual gas.
If you dispose aerosol cans with gas left inside…
The gas remaining in aerosol products can be ignited by other waste items within garbage compactor trucks or refuse treatment facilities, such as by electric lighters,
being compacted or as a result of friction heat.
To prevent such accidents, we worked with local governments to come up with an industry-leading solution that allows consumers to release residual gas easily and with minimal risk: the degassing cap.
Always release residual gas in a well-ventilated outdoor location where there is no risk of fire.
